West Ham sign former "teenage sensation" Vlasic – One of the Irons' 5 most expensive transfers
West Ham United have acquired the services of attacking midfielder Nikola Vlasic. The 23-year-old – known to Premier League fans for a short stint at Everton – strengthens the Irons' squad ahead of a busy season that will take in Europa League action. He joins from CSKA Moscow in a deal believed to be worth around £25 million (€29 million).
The former "teenage sensation", how Croatia international Vlasic is called in a club statement, is one of the five most expensive signings in West Ham's history and has signed a contract running until 2026. The Premier Liga player of the year in 2020 moved to CSKA in 2019 after a one-year loan from Everton and increased his market value to €30 million in Russia. On his first attempt in England, he was unable to bring his class onto the pitch. Now, he is starting his next attempt as the Hammers' second top transfer for the new season after Kurt Zouma was signed from Chelsea for more than £30 million.
